My association with Aditya Birla Capital began when I joined the Business HR Team as an intern fresh from ABC’s FAIR Summer Internship Programme. Right from day one, I’ve had the opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders, experience different aspects of the business and delve into the functioning of various teams. My first project with the HR department involved the building of a product for the Sales team – a product that was set to impact over 800 people of the Retail Sales division.

Working on a high-impact project from scratch in my internship itself, has definitely been a blessing! I also got to apply my engineering experience in this project, which I believe gave me an edge very early on. Throughout the project, HR and Sales were a true example of the synergistic culture at ABC, working seamlessly to bring it to closure. And witnessing how the product ultimately benefited so many people was made even sweeter by the appreciation I received across the board. 

Having proved my mettle during the internship period, I got a full-time opportunity in the HR team, and was able to dive right into the fascinating challenges that come with the job. Apart from continuing to work on the product I had helped develop as an intern, I also got roped into extensive data analysis, complete with insight-building and productivity calculations. Again, I was well aware of the larger impact my everyday work had, because these insights would be presented to the top management and channelled back into product development. It’s a matter of pride for me that my hard work and ability to apply different skill-sets paid off at ABC. Today, having spent just about two years in the ABC ecosystem, I know that my seniors are confident about what I bring to the table, and this drives me to keep doing better. Because no matter how much you excel, there’s always scope to grow.

In just over a year, I’ve steadily gained a diverse range of experience on-the-job. This has helped me identify so many of my strengths – be it problem-solving or resilience, collaboration and agility. From intern to management trainee, to becoming a full-time ABC citizen, the experience has been especially wholesome because of the people I am surrounded by. With their support, encouragement and faith in me, I feel doubly assured of what I can contribute here. It’s time for new milestones and an exciting new adventure in my next role at ABC, and I feel equipped to assume newer, more advanced responsibilities.
