Aditya Birla Capital played a pivotal role in helping me change the trajectory of my career.

Over the course of my 20-year career in finance, I have had the privilege of working across diverse business verticals such as customer service, operations, underwriting, trade finance, and real estate fund management.

It was at ABC, where I achieved my all-time high as the Head - Branch Operations and Customer Service in the Housing Finance business. My managers gave me the platform to work on critical service and innovation-led projects. Our collective efforts were recognized at the International Convention of Quality Circle, Tokyo where we won 2 Gold and 2 Silver Awards for Tech Innovation.

However, I found myself asking - What next?

During that time, I was selected for ABC’s Development Assessment Centre programme. The results of this Leadership Development intervention helped me discover new career possibilities and visualize a new career ambition for myself.

The Leadership recommended a sales role in the Construction Finance Division as a stepping stone in this new direction. The move from Operations to Sales, especially at this juncture of my career, meant a significant transition for me. I saw this as an incredible opportunity to expand my skill set and build business acumen. Continued support from my Manager and HR ensured seamless induction into the new practice.

Today, I am learning end-to-end business processes within Construction Finance. Soon I will manage this mandate independently at ABHFL, while building my own team. This incredible opportunity to reimagine my career, came my way thanks to ABC’s focus on recognizing and grooming talent from within the organization. The entire ecosystem has, since then, come together to help me meet my challenge.
