Monsoons bring a breath of fresh air from the unbearable heat of the summers. However, our digestive system becomes very vulnerable during this time of the year. You become more prone to gastric problems such as acidity, indigestion, and ulcers. One of the main reasons these gastric problems occur is the consumption of unhygienic water and food. Elaichi Hing Powder
This is yet another simple recipe, which requires you to blend all the ingredients. Hing boosts digestion by increasing the activity of digestive enzymes. It also increases the release of bile from your liver, which is required for digesting fats. Cardamom or elaichi is a good digestive stimulant as it provides relief from gastrointestinal problems like flatulence, acidity, indigestion, and stomachaches.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoon elaichi pods
1 teaspoon hing powder
1 teaspoon ginger powder
2 teaspoon ajwain seeds
Method:
- Add all the ingredients into a blender and give it a good blend to turn them into a fine powder, so they mix well.
- Run the mixture through a thicker holed sieve to remove the unwanted fiber of elaichi, which may not be too palatable for the mouth.
- Take a teaspoon of the powder, add it to lukewarm water, mix it and sip it.
- You can keep the remaining powder in an air-tight container and store it for many days.
All the ingredients that have gone into this drink have anti-inflammatory and medicinal properties that suit the stomach lining. It improves your digestive health.
