Cancer In Children
In India, although childhood cancers are rare in comparison to cancers in adults, the survival rate is only about 40%. This is due to a lack of awareness about these types of cancers. The most common cancers during childhood are Leukaemia, a type of blood cancer, and Lymphoma, a cancer that affects the cells of the immune system.
If you observe persistent symptoms like fever, pain or swelling in the joints and bones, bruising or irregular bleeding, etc. consult a doctor immediately. Ensure that your child is getting a balanced diet and look out for early signs of cancer. Also take care that the child is vaccinated as per schedule, and has received essential shots like Hepatitis B. Taking such precautions can aid in keeping your child healthy. Remember that the earlier the diagnosis, the better the chances of cancer recovery.
