A balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle go hand-in-hand 

A healthy lifestyle, which is desired by many but achieved by very few. To see yourself in those very few, you need to maintain a balanced diet. Because a balanced diet provides all the essential nutrients and helps in achieving ideal body weight. Many of us have misconceptions about a balanced diet that it tastes bitter. Here’s a recipe that will surely bust such myths and indulge you in a delicious meal. Try this recipe at home and switch your balanced diet towards a healthier lifestyle.

Easy recipe to make Chickpea Chilla 

Ingredients:

    • 1 onion
    • 1 bunch of coriander leaves
    • 1 green chili
    • 1 tomato
    • 1 piece of ginger
    • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
    • Salt to taste
    • ½ teaspoon ajwain
    • Turmeric powder
    • ¾ cup water 
  • Oil/ghee 

Procedure:

  1. First of all chop your washed vegetables – 1 onion, some coriander leaves, 1 green chili, and 1 tomato. Apart from this, grate some ginger as well
  2. In a bowl, mix 1 cup gram flour, salt (as required), ½ teaspoon ajwain, and turmeric. Put the chopped vegetables in a bowl and mix everything well. Make sure the onions and tomatoes are finely chopped
  3. Add chopped coriander and ¾ cup water to this mixture and mix well so that a thick but consistent batter is formed
  4. Now heat the tawa and put a dollop of batter in the centre and spread it as thin as possible. Add little oil or ghee and let it cook on medium flame
  5. Once you see the edges coming out, flip it and let the other side cook evenly. When the Chilla starts showing brown spots it means it is ready

Beetroot Hummus Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 bowl of soaked and boiled chickpeas
  • 1 chopped beetroot
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • ½ cup curd
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • ¼ cup water
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Procedure:

  1. Add all the ingredients and the juice of the one lemon to the blender and secure the lid properly.
  2. Blend for a few minutes till you get a smooth paste.
  3. Remove from blender into a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Enjoy with the Chilla as a healthy breakfast or an energy boosting snack during the day.
