Mothers are constantly on the move caring for their homes and families. Many mums also have full-time jobs leaving them with barely any time for themselves. Burnout among mothers is on the rise which is why self-care for mums has become extremely necessary.
Here Are A Few Things Mums Can Do While Also Devoting Time To Their Family And Jobs
1 Get Complete Nutrition
A vast number of Indian women suffer from nutrient deficiencies. Most commonly calcium, iron, iodine, magnesium, vitamin A, vitamin B12, and vitamin D. Left untreated these deficiencies can lead to other chronic health problems like anaemia, osteoporosis, fatigue, hair loss, and more. Most mothers are advised a chelated calcium supplement by their doctors along with a multivitamin and iron supplement if necessary. Talk to your doctor if you feel you have a deficiency and might require supplements.
2 Do Regular Breast Self-Examinations:
When caught in the early stages, breast cancer is 100% curable. The best way to catch any changes in the breasts as early as possible is through regular breast self-examinations. Women need to know what their breasts look and feel like when normal, this will help you to notice any changes much earlier. When you examine your breasts, you need to look out for any fluid discharge from the nipples, changes in skin colouration and texture, dimpling of the skin, and lumps in the breast. To check for lumps, first lie flat on the bed, raise your left hand over your head and use your right hand to check your left breast. With the pads of the fingers gently apply pressure to the top of the breast and slowly move your hand all around. Do the same for the right breast with the left hand. If you feel a hard lump or lumps in one breast without corresponding lumps in the other, you should get yourself checked by a doctor and avoid cancer in early stages.
