Important Note
The General Insurance Council (GIC) has laid guidelines and recommended standardized rates for Covid-19 treatments for different hospitals. These guidelines and rates will be used as reference points while processing claims.

Is coronavirus disease covered ?

This disease is covered for hospitalization as per the criteria defined in the Policy wordings , Provided valid documents have been submitted during the claim (Products covered- Activ Assure Diamond, Activ Care, Activ Health Platinum, Group Activ Health, Super Health Top-up).

Does it have any waiting period?

Except for initial 30 days of waiting period from the date of issuance of policy . The disease does not have any specific waiting period.This waiting period does not apply for any Insured Person that is accepted under Portability and for subsequent and continuous Renewals of the Policy with Us.

Can cashless treatment be availed for this disease?

Customer can avail cashless facility in all our network hospital. Customer can also file reimbursement however treatment should not be taken from blacklisted hospital. The list of black listed hospital is available on our website.

Will I get paid for any testing done to identify if I have coronavirus symptom? (Website & Contact Centre FAQ)

No, any Standalone Diagnostic Expenses towards Testing for Corona Virus Symptoms on OPD basis will not be payable.

I purchased a policy in India however got treated for Coronavirus abroad while travelling, Can I file for reimbursement claim? (Website & Contact Centre FAQ)

ABHI will be processing the claim for hospitalisation within Indian Geography only. if someone is admitted while travelling (in any other country) same is not payable

Can health assessment or Annual health check-up provided by ABHI help me identify if I have coronavirus symptom? (Website & Contact Centre FAQ)

No. HA & AHC check up provided by ABHI under policy framework does not cover diagnostic tests for Covid 19.

Any loss of life due to Corona Virus will be covered in my Policy?

No, this is a health insurance policy and it will only cover expenses during hospitalisation.

Yes. The cost of admissible medical expenses during the hospitalization will be settled in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions of your policy contract.

If I am under quarantine, will my expenditure be covered?

Yes. The cost of admissible medical expenses during the course of treatment during hospitalisation, including the treatment during quarantine inside a hospital, will be settled in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions of your policy contract.

Do ABHI plans provide cover for viral infection too?

Yes. We cover viral infections under your hospitalization and treatment expenses. While you don't need to worry about the expenses of treatment, but it's better you keep yourself protected. Prevention, after all, is better than cure. Waiting Period has been reduced from 30 days to 15 days to avoid delay in activation of protection for COVID-19 treatment for policy holders buying health insurance plans till 31st December, 2020. This is applicable for Activ Health (Product UIN: IRDAI/HLT/ABHI/P-H/V.1/32/16-17), Activ Assure (Product UIN: ADIHLIP18077V011718, Active Care (Product UIN: ADIHLIP20001V011920), Group Activ Health (Product UIN: IRDAI/HLT/ABHI/P-H(G)/V.1/19/2016-17) and Super Health Plus top-up (Product UIN: ADIHLIP20079V011920) policy holders. Home Care Treatment benefit as specified is provided under Activ Health and Activ Assure till 31st December, 2020. Home care benefit is Home Treatment facility to the Insured Person(s) in respect of the protocols otherwise requiring hospitalization and where policyholder has been advised Home Treatment by the treating Doctor in line with the ICMR Guidelines.
